Stretch Your Stamps ~ Sentiments

I love sentiments … they are my favorite stamps.  I went ahead and bought the great Ali Edwards set Bring on the Sun that they used in the Stretch Your Sentiments class, and I made my version of Jennifer Maguire's card featuring them.

I stamped the sentiment and tiny sun repeatedly in Versamark ink on Ivory cardstock & did my version of a watercolor resist, but instead used Dusty Concord Distress Stain (so much quicker than sponging ink and I love the watery effect).  I also loved the shortened front on the card (with the sun attached behind the front panel) for more dimension.  The two die cut clouds are attached the purple panel on the inside of the card.

I love creating your own designer paper with the repeating sentiment … very fun effect.

  1. Squee! You’re taking the class, too? Did I already know that but I forgot? Probably.
I love your version of Jennifer’s card. I need to get serious this week and try to catch up with my homework! 🙂

  2. did you also heat emboss the text? I am still learning what I can do with Versamark and heat embossing so this question might seem stupid to you 🙂
I love how the bottom panel looks like a pattern paper. I love sentiment stamps too, got the most basic ones from HA and fiskars.
