Morocco Starburst

When I saw that one of the Stretch Your Stamps classes involved flower stamps, I figured that I had some in my stash that would work.  I also wasn't overly in love with the set they used for the class (Basic Grey Pattern Hearts & Flowers … although I found it interesting that all of the artists in the class only used the same flower stamp from the set on all their cards).

Of course, tonight when I went to look for flower stamps, I found that my clear stamp collection didn't have a single flower image that I thought would work for the technique I wanted to try.  I realized I often subconsciously shy away from buying flower stamps, because they seem to cry out to be colored, which isn't one of my favorite techniques.  Thankfully after seeing the samples in this class I know there are other options.

So, I went with a couple of wooden Hero Arts stamps to create my card (Single Starburst for the background & Starbursts for the focal image).  I used the all-over flower stamping technique by nestling the single image together to cover the entire page.

I decided to go monochromatic with my new Memento Morocco Orange ink.  I added some bronze pearls and added a bit of brown to the orange to stamp my sentiment from Hero Arts Essential Messages.  The layout is this week's Sweet Stop Sketch.
