As soon as I saw this great license plate paper in the Tim Holtz Lost and Found Paper Stack, I knew it would go perfectly with the Artistic Outpost Route 66 images. Route 66 actually went through the town I grew up in, so it holds a special place in my heart. The building in this image sort of reminds me of the old Boots Motel and Drive-in.
I used this week's Unscripted Sketch, which is perfect for showcasing horizontal images (they're celebrating Christmas in July at the Unscripted Sketch blog & if you participate in three of their sketches this month, there's a chance for a great prize). I stamped the map from the Artistic Outpost set multiple times on the red circle from Cosmo Cricket Halfway Cafe.
The main image and Route 66 sign were stamped on a scrap of Pink Paislee paper in art print brown (the Highway sign was clear embossed to make it easier to cut out). I sponged on Distress Inks to add some color to the images (and tone down the brightness of the paper to coordinate with the other elements).
This card is also for the Free For All Challenge at the wee Memories blog.
Enjoy the day. We're off on a road trip on the local rural roads … love seeing the farms and gorgeous countryside.
