I spent the morning at the Marion Arts Festival soaking up some creative inspiration. This year the artists weren't allowing photos, so I'll just have to share links and online photos of some of my favorites.
I loved the fabulous Paper Cut designs of Mary Sundstrom. I was particularly drawn to the ones with a black image on top of pastel backgrounds … so dramatic She said she cuts it all by hand with an Xacto knife.
I also loved the unique pottery designs of Lauri Pollpeter Eskenazi. Her detail & colors are amazing.
I am always drawn to art that recycles what would otherwise be thrown away. I loved the designs of Reclamation.
But the art that finally won my heart and came home with me was a Mindful Mosaic from Peaceful Prairie Pottery. They too turn yard sale finds and estate treasures into art for future generations to enjoy. They are also ceramic artists, so they make their own tiles with their own quote stamps, as well as incorporating stamps of other companies. If was a very tough decision, but this is the Mindful Mosaic that now lives in the hallway by my bathroom door. Love that quote.

LOVE everything…that mosiac is wonderful!!
dang. totally wanna make trash + poetry mosaics now. ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!!!!! (♥♥♥)
