Easter Memories

I was thinking about Easter memories this morning.  My step-dad was the cleverest Easter egg hider … sometimes we would still find the candy-filled plastic eggs days after the holiday (we never hid real ones just for that reason).

I also remember hosting the annual Easter Egg Hunt for our city as a member of Women of Today (formerly Jaycee Women).  We would hit all of the after-Easter sales each year and buy up every single plastic Easter egg we could get our hands, so we could store them for the next year's hunt.  We would go around town getting donations of candy and prizes.  Then we would get up early and block off areas of the City park for the hunt & spread the goodies all over the lawn.  For several years, I was actually the Easter Bunny.

Yes, that's me in that very hot Bunny suit (love those blooming red bud trees).  I posed for pictures and had a basket of candy to make sure those that didn't get any treats during the hunt had a few to take home.  It was a very hot suit with limited vision, so I was often a victim of those crafty little tail pullers.

Enjoy the day.
