I had a lot of fun making my Anniversary themed cards for the Caardvarks Love Fest. Remember you have until midnight Thursday to upload your Anniversary creations (anniversary cards are great ones to have on hand in your card stash).
This is one of those cards that turned out exactly as I envisioned it in my mind (believe it or not, that doesn’t happen very often).
I started with some vintage sheet music I inherited from my Grandfather. I love being able to incorporate items that mean something to me personally into my creations. My grandfather played the trombone and also had a deep, beautiful singing voice. When I think of him, I think of him making music, and that makes my heart sing.
I stamped the QKD heart on tan cardstock and framed it with maroon cardstock. The font is Cardinal … I love how it works with the sheet music. The stickers across the bottom and top are from 7Gypsies (how clever is the "rhapsody in you" … sometimes I just amuse myself :^).
I wanted to find a way to incorporate some of the other stamps (besides the great heart) that were included in the QKD stamp set. I stamped the swirled-scroll multiple times in ColorBox Dark Peony ink on a piece of Basic Grey Recess DP. I love the random pattern. I added another piece of DP from the set and a Classic K Margo sticker to finish the design. I think it works great for a "guy" anniversary card. The finished card is 3 1/2" x 5 3/4".
Make sure you check out the other great cards in the Love Fest Gallery.
Holy moly what a card! I just love how you made it with a piece of YOU. Your work is so lovely and I love your blog – you are my Paper Monkey Blog of the Week this week 🙂
