I’m always a little sad when a daily creative process ends, but at the same time it feels good to reclaim my studio from the chaos of daily creating.
O is for Ocean … lots of blue layers.
P is for Postcard … it’s fun to print on a smaller surface. This one uses the Fine Vines Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (now known as Stencils for Paper Crafters) … HollyFan10 saves you 10% if you want to go shopping.
Q is for Quilt. I used Elizabeth St. Hilaire’s Earthly Elegance Stencil from Joggles stencil on top, because I thought it had the feel of crazy quilt blocks. Underneath is StencilGirl’s Wild Beach Grass Mask.
I quickly turned this one into a Thank You card by punching it into 1 1/8″ squares to create another paper quilt topping it with Kristina Werner’s Big Type Greetings and a very old Stampin’ Up Scalloped Border punch for the ruffle on the ends.
R is for Round. I found my tiny round Gelliarts plate and layered on some colors of PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints.
I pulled out an old Stars in the Rounds Mask from Carabelle Studios and bright orange paint … it might show up later in a Halloween card.
T is for Texture uses some polymer clay texture plates I picked-up at The Dollar Tree when I was on vacation with my sister … I’m always on the looking for things that might work for printing.
My favorite U is for Upcycle is cardboard. It takes me quite a while to tear of the paper layer, so I keep my pieces and use them over-and-over again. I did browns and golds thinking I might die cut them into leaves later.
And for the final week, I started by printing on a vintage book page for V is for Vintage. Do you recognize the first pull using Elizabeth St. Hilaire’s Earthly Elegance from Joggles that I used on my Quilt Card (since I don’t clean the paint off my stencils and they lay on my table after printing, they often get revisited during the month … I finally put them all away yesterday). I love how the text shows through.
My husband once asked if I created things inspired by my clothes … or if I dress insipred by my art. These are my new Remonte R1402 Liv shoes that I picked-up on my last visit to The Shoe Box in Black Earth, Wisconsin … love them and love that place.
W is for Wings was perfect for a square butterfly stencil I discovered in my stash. This was the second pull with the stencil leaving quilt a bit of purple on the plate from the first pull.
X is for X-tra Layers turned out pretty cool … almost a leather-like look. There are multiple Elizabeth St. Hilaire Stencils in there from Joggles (one of my favorites).
Y is for Yellow.
And finally, Z is for Zen. Floating in the water is my zen place, so that’s the feeling I tried to capture.
Now to get all of these filed away, so I can find them for future cardmaking (I store them by colors in a crate of hanging file folders).
