I just returned from a long weekend in Kansas City with my sister … seriously, nothing fills my bucket quite like extended time with her.
The start was a concert at the new Morton Amphatheater … Matt Nathanson, Barenaked Ladies & Train. It was so stinking hot. Matt said it was like “singing in soup”, and I had to agree. We had fifth row seats, which was very nice in the large new space.

My sister really wanted to see Matt Nathanson, so after he performed, we went out and bought t-shirts and then stood in the line to meet him (that ;ine was three times longer than the merch line). We could hear the BNL set clearly while we waited, and he stayed until every last person had the opportunity to meet him. He even gave out hugs in the sweltering soupy weather.

He had a photographer who took your camera for lots of shots of the meet & greet, which was a nice touch (maybe that’s normal – it was a new experience for me – but he was incredibly thoughtful).

He even let me sneak in for a second shot with Matt.

So glad I was able to share this experience with her. We listened to this cut of Giants multiple times throughout the weekend.
Another thing we love to do together is shop at Thrift Stores and Discount Stores. We usually stop at 3 different Dollar Tree stores before the time is through. At one, they had some lovely metallic butterfly wall decals. I did the math, and decided they would make some very affordable card embellishments.
Today I tried using the silver ones with a bright pink Gelliarts printed background.

I added a Kristina Werner Big Type Greetings 2 Love You Die cut Sentiment cut from super-shiny Simon Says Stamp Luxe Glitter Silver cardstock, backed with silver vellum, and attached with foam tape for dimension. I finished with a scattering of Pinkfresh Studio gems.

With my beautiful butterflies and vibrant pink hue, I’m linking-up at the August Triple B Challenge.
