STAMPlorations Junk Journal Collage

Shery at STAMPlorations is focusing on growing her store again, and one of the fun things she has added are these great card front sets that she has as part of her subscription series.

She graciously sent me the Junk Journal Collage set, and I had a lot of fun creating with them (you can see STAMPlorations blog post here). They’re so cool. You can just slap them onto a card base and put them in the mail … you can add a sentiment and you’re good to go … or you can add all of the things you would add in a mixed media creation. The paper is thick and ready to take it on.

For the first one I combined die cuts, stamping and a bit of bling. I die cut the smallest CUTplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Die from black cardstock. After I determined where I wanted to position it, I used a rectangle die and cut out a piece of the card front from behind the Stitched die and moved it on top.

I added a sentiment from STAMPlorations Life in Full Color from my favorite artist Georgia O’Keefe and finished with the CUTplorations Art Happens Phrase Die Cut and finished with some red bling before attaching it all to an ivory card base.

For the second card base, I went with lots of dimension.

I added several paper flower to complement the flowers printed on the cover. I die cut the CUTplorations Flutter Zen Butterfly die from pink & gold. I used foam tape bits under the winters to keep them in slight.

I finished with a sentiment from a stamp set designed by my friend Becca for STAMPlorations – Wonderful Life – that I attached with foam tape for more dimension.

For the next one, I created a flat mailable card by adding bits of my GelliArts Gel Printed papers with another sentiment stamp from STAMPlorations Wonderful Life.

I love this sentiment … so perfect to put in the mail to one of my girlfriends.

And for the final one, I stenciled some ink using two different STAMPlorations stencils – Onion in Raws and Dots & Dashes.

I paired them with the CUTplorations You Are My Sunshine die cut from purple to coordinate with the card front & card base and a second cut from black for a drop shadow and a bit of contrast. The finishing touch is some sunshine enamel dots.
