Don’t Eat a Plaid Poinsettia

This week at Jingle Belles we're celebrating all things Plaid.  There are lots of great patterned papers in that category, not to mention stamps and stencils for creating one's own. You might use a  tartan ribbon, a buffalo plaid background or argyle accents, just find a plaid you like and incorporate it into your card.

Lawn Fawn has the best plaid paper pads, so I decided to incorporate this lovely design from Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid.  I also decided to incorporate the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge to create a card inspired by a Book, Movie or Song.

For my inspiration, I chose the classic children's Christmas Carol – Don't Eat a Poinsettia.

I die cut the Lawn Fawn Stitched Poinsettia Dies from coordinating solid cardstocks.  I used small glue dots to assemble the poinsettia layers and attached them to the plaid paper using 3-D glue dots for dimension.

I added coordinating bling to the center of the blooms and finished with a sentiment from Lawn Fawn Simply Winter Sentiments.

And since I had bits left on my studio table, I decided to turn them into a bonus plaid card using a coordinating light blue card base.

We hope you'll pull out your plaids and come join us at Jingle Belles.

  2. Just love the plaid you chose Stephanie and what gorgeous cards you made with it and those pretty stitched poinsettia die cuts. Thank you for pointing me in the direction of the new-to-me Don’t Eat A Poinsettia song – that’s something I won’t be getting out of my head any time soon!! Vicky x
