Technique Junkies April New Stamps

I started with two of my favorite stamps … perfect for upcoming Cinco de Mayo or any time you want to send a little spice through the mail.

 

Hot Peppers was stamped in Purple Ink on red cardstock.  I stamped it a second time, so I could detail cut some of the peppers to accent my Fiesta Sentiment.  I used a funky corner punch, so some of the purple cardstock could show through & then finished with a few red gems … Fiesta!

Next I stamped the new Garden Party Background in Versafine Clair Twilight ink on olive cardstock.  The sentiment from Word (Set of 4) reflect my frustration that it is April, and we still have pockets of snow on the ground … I am so over winter and ready for some Farmer's Market fruits and veggies.

 

I added a wrap of spring green twine and colored the hearts with a pink marker to complete my card.

I love Dahlias because they come in so many color combinations.  I stamped my Technique Junkies Dahlias in white ink and embossed with white embossing powder on watercolor paper.  Next I tried painting with orange and green Shimmering Bliss Sprays.  It wasn't quite the look I was hoping for, but after spraying it with water several times to soften the blend, I liked the result.

 

I added a sentiment from the new Wedding Wishes Sentiment set (what a great set for wedding cards).

For my next Dahlia design, I stamped in white & embossed in white again, but this time I sprayed with the same orange & green Shimmering Bliss Spray colors … the camera doesn't do justice to the gorgeous all-over shimmer of these sprays.  

 

I added a wrap of seam binding and left it sentiment-free, so I have it for one of those occasions that just need a lovely flower.
