Spark Joy

The current inspiration at The Library Challenge is Spark Joy by Marie Kondo.  A friend recently wrote me a note about how she has been applying the book's methodology in her life … I had to laugh a little because I realized I've pretty much been the Marie Kondo of my family for years.  I've taken multiple trips to help family members purge items and reclaim space.  If my own space starts getting the least bit cluttered, get out of my way because things are going to the trash or to Goodwill.

I immediately saw the book cover as a card layout (although I realize I missed the white stripe down the side).  I needed birthday cards, so I decide to create a CAS design featuring cupcake brads and confetti card bases (with my displaced studio, I've been using lots of boxes of pre-decorated card bases to start my designs).

While I was at it, I made a second card.  I'm also joining the Anything Goes Challenge at Seize the Birthday.

  1. Sweet and happy cupcake sprinkles cards – yes, the book cover makes a great layout. And don’t worry about the white stripe – I think that’s elastic to hold the book closed, so not really part of the cover design! Thanks for joining The Library.

  2. I too like to declutter but I’m sure she wouldn’t approve of my drawer organization! LOL. Such a great idea to use the cover for inspiration. Such bright and cheerful design. Love the colours! Thanks for playing along with Seize the Birthday.
