Gelato Snowy Scene

This week at Jingle Belles we've got a lovely guest star Marianne who is bringing us our theme … A-Coloring We Will Go.  We're creating by creating a holiday card that incorporates any type of coloring medium … you know, markers, pencils, crayons, inks, watercolor, etc.

I decided to color directly on my Hero Arts Snowy Scene stamp using a Blue Gelato.  Next I lightly spritzed with water (holding the stamp at arm's length and letting the droplets from the watery mist fall on the stamp, so it doesn't get too wet) and stamped on watercolor paper.

To join the February Mix-It-Up Challenge with Essentials by Ellen and Hero Arts, I added a sentiment from Essentials by Ellen Modern Christmas along the bottom.  I finished by coloring with my Nuvo Glitter Marker and adding sparkly silver stars in my night sky.

The piece along the bottom incorporated another coloring technique … I splattered alcohol inks on texty printed Yupo Paper.

The fun thing about this technique is that it looks a little different every time.   Here's a second version combining two colors of blue Gelato (lighter blue along the bottom).

I embossed white-core gold metallic paper for my card base.

We hope you'll break out your favorite coloring mediums and join us at Jingle Belles.
