Collage Inspired

One of the highlights of my CHA experience was spending time with Collage Artist Extraordinaire Linda Brun (and her friend … and now my friend … Jorunn).  I had fun pulling Gelli Press Prints with her while she was demonstrating for Gelli Arts.

She brought me an amazing care package from Norway that included art supplies, chocolate, and one of her hand-made journals with a Gelli Print Cover, so I wanted to channel my inner Linda and make her a collage Thank You card.

I started with a Tarot Card book page and added torn bits of the green print on deli paper that I'm making in the picture above.

I also added a map of the State of Arizona and a cactus picture I got from one of booths at Creativation.  I also added some Color Burst colored water color paper … and paper towels.  I finished with bits of cut text assembling a poem.

I made a card for Jorunn too using a more clean & simple collage technique.  I picked-up leftover watercolor on my work table to create a light wash on the background.

I incorporated some of the same elements from my first card together with a Dylusions Creative Dyary Dy Cut Flower from the Diane Reaveley class Jorunn and I took together.

I think you'll probably be seeing more collage art in my future.
