I decided to use the scraps of paper on my studio table to make a card to join Unity's Friends with Flair.
I tried out some new David Tutera Floral Duct Tape that I picked-up at Crafts Direct yesterday.
As I looked through my drawers of Unity stamps, I saw this sentiment by Donna Downey that made me smile. I thought about how an encounter with her changed my creative trajectory back in 2008.
I had started blogging in July 2007 and was really starting to fall in love with the creative process. I saw that she was going to hold her first ever Inspired Event. Even though I knew no one and would be traveling alone, I decided to make the journey.
I have so many amazing memories from that event … sitting next to Ali Edwards and her sister making Poppets … having breakfast with and learning from Kal Barteski … learning transfer techniques from Jane of Random Arts … meeting Cathy Zielske, Heather Bailey and other artists I had admired from afar.
However my most profound memory was that the experience confirmed that I was an artist … and that I loved making art … and oh where that journey has taken me. Thanks Donna for helping direct my path to a life where I get to do more of what makes me awesome every day.

Very lovely! I would frame it & hang it on my wall. 🙂
Fab card, cool tape, and I love that sentiment too! One of my fave Unity sentiments.
Cheers,
Shanna 🙂
