I enjoyed reading about Mason City, Iowa from fellow blogger Jeni from Jeni Eats. When we learned they had a sculpture walk, together with a Frank Lloyd Wright designed hotel, we knew we had to make the journey.
Our first stop was the Historic Park Inn hotel where we learned the restaurant did not serve lunch. So instead, we wandered over to the SuzyQ Diner to try their famous Spic N Span Tenderloin.
We were early enough to get one of the 10 seats at the counter before the place filled-up.
After that meal, we needed to go for a walk … and thankfully we had the map to visit the River City Sculptures on Parade. The weather couldn't have been more perfect.
This one reminded me of my childhood … always curled-up somewhere reading a book.
I spent a little time hanging out with Mr. Eggwards.
Rod interacted with the art too.
The sky was gorgeous too.
Some gorgeous copper patina too.
And of course there were musical sculptures like this 76 Trombones that celebrated The Music Man of River City.
It was a fantastic way to spend the day.

Looks like a fabulous trip!
