This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge comes from Restoration Hardware's Baby & Child Store. I chose these fun little Luxe Faux Fur Grand Stockings to inspire my design.
I saw this free Elf Stocking Pattern by Patty Young and thought it would be fun to try to turn it into a digital design … and I was thrilled with how well it worked. I cropped the picture of the stocking at the bottom right of page two and turned it into a clipping mask for some digital papers to create my design. I always have to re-watch Kristina Werner's video for a refresher, but once I do, it's rather quick and relaxing process. And the thing I like most, is that once you're finished, you can print out as many as you want for quick card production

I paper pieced my stocking using La Creme Digital papers from DCWV (sorry they advised their Digital Site is not currently operational)… I loved the large floral elements on the main stocking design. The background is an Anna Aspnes ArtsyKardz Snow digital image. After printing I added ink to the edges, three sizes of pearl accents, and blue & black colored pencil for some highlights to the design. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Holiday Cheer Messages stamped in India Ink.

Wow! Great stocking, and that floral is perfect for this! Really a fun card. Bev
I HAD to tell you – my jaw dropped for that inspo pic, because Connor & Riley are my boys’ names 🙂
I love that gorgeously detailed stocking image, and the shading you added makes the whole design pop!
