12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist

Having more holiday fun in the studio tonight with the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist … this card is inspired by Jennifer Maguire's tag for Day 4.

I knew I wanted to incorporate a bird like she did … and luckily, I just added this Tim Holtz Christmas Cardinal to my die cut collection.  I cut it in three colors … layered on the pieces (offsetting the leaves slightly for a bit of shadow) and added the facial features and hand-cut wing (attached with a tiny glue dot at each end so I could bow it out for a bit of dimension).  I sponged Old Paper Distress Ink on the entire die cut once everything was attached.

I wanted text along the top with a contrasting color below the branch like Jennifer used in her design … I used a vintage hymnal page (I thought the Snow Prayer was good for a holiday theme) and some kraft cardstock for my tag design … I finished with red pearl berries and bold SRM Sticker sentiment and holiday star from Quick Cards Peace (with a bit of blingy sparkle).

Here is Jennifer's tag that inspired me:

I'm also joining the Holiday Tag Challenge with the Challenge Chicks … and the Winter Holiday Challenge at Shopping Our Stash (all of the papers were from my scrap bin & I've had those SRM stickers for a long time just waiting for the perfect opportunity to shine).
