12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist

I'm playing along with the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist again tonight (while watching the performances on The Voice … I was really hoping someone would sing a Christmas song tonight).  I adored Julie's whimsical tag … at first, I was stumped, but once the ideas started forming in my head, it came together so quickly … and I love it.

I stayed with the vertical tag orientation and the fabulous color combination … I also featured some mittens like she did … mine are from Rogue Redhead Designs' Candy Kisses stamped in white ink and embossed with white embossing powder (something I usually avoid like the plague, but seeing Julie's design convinced me it would work … and it did).

I also created my own striped tag background using her technique of attaching 1" strips of paper, but I added some stamping using the netting stamp from RRD's Just Sayin' … I love the effect of stamping it on textured cardstock (you can click through to see the larger photo).

RogueTag1wmI added an awesome hat from RRD's Snow Hugs that I think looks super-cool stamped in white … and as a tribute to Julie's sense of fun in her designs, I used a fun sentiment from RRD's Candy Kisses.  My final touch was lots of pearls … this pearl flourish fit perfectly at the top of my tag (with a little tweaking) and I added pearls to my gloves and hat too.  I used Tim Holtz Styled Labels cut from a thick white chipboard as the base for my fun little winter scene.

Huge props to Julie for inspiring me to try several things I never would have without her fantastic inspiration … love when that happens.

I'm also joining the Holiday Tag Challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.
