Monster Mash

This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge comes from the fabulous glass creations of Daniel Maher Stained Glass … I am particularly inspired by what he calls his Housewares Graveyard pieces.  My card inspired by Green Bottoms II.

I started with some scraps of green papers from DCWV's Doodlin' Around Stack and scraps of black cardstock.  I pulled out all of my circle punches ranging from 1/2" to 1 1/4" and started punching out monsters from one of the pieces of paper & corresponding black cardstock mats.

Next, I stamped Hero Arts Antique Brocade in Olive Pastel Chalk ink on another scrap of paper and punched out more circles.  I attached the circles to a 4" designer paper square that was matted on a 4 1/4" black card base, making sure they touched edges like the glass piece.  I finished by matting the coordinating sticker sentiment on black cardstock and free-hand cutting the mat.

I hope you find inspiration.

  2. What a totally fun card, and a welcome chuckle for sure! My little corner of the world has been SO STRESSFUL lately – I needed this day-brightener! I need to go look at the rest of the Daniel Maher pieces – he seems like my kind of guy. I collect pieces like the ones he used on your inspiration source…
