Let it Sew, Let it Sew, Let it Sew

Yes, we're getting punny at Jingle Belles again this week (hey, what can I say, we're goofy that way) … this week's prompt is "Let it Sew" … to incorporate some sort of stitching (machine, hand, or faux) into your design.

In my recent crafty travels, I picked-up the new We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy Tool, so I thought I would give it a try down each side of my main Webster's Pages panel.

Next I used a thin black marker to "stitch" down each side … somewhat comforting to know that my faux stitching is just as wonky as my real stitching would be … looks like investing in the scoring mat might help.

My card was inspired by this card by Scrapflower for the Inspiration Challenge #2 at the The Lily Pad.  I liked the layout, stitching, and label-shaped focal panel.  I was lucky enough to find a gorgeous scrap of Webster's Pages paper in my8 scrapbin that already had a label in the design.

I added a few vintage rub-ons and several wraps of some wonderful Mission Falls Ivory yarn that I picked up on my trip to the Yarn Shop & More in Kansas City last weekend … I can't wait to try dying the yarn with some of my spray mists … it has such a wonderful texture.

They're also making holiday cards at The Corrosive Challenge Blog this week, so if you want, you can hop on over there & play along too.
