I've been thinking about the picture from this week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger all week. It made me wish I could crochet … or knit … or make things with yarn. It reminded me of the afghans and quilts at my Grandma's house. However, since I can't crochet, knit, or make things with yarn (yet), I started playing with my paper supplies to see what the picture would inspire me to create.
I loved the neutral, earthy colors of the wood and stone, so I started with a Kraft card base. I also loved the length of the design, so I went with a tall, thin layout (4"x7"). I started going through all of my flowers … when I found this wonderful package of Green Sprites Prima Flowers that Joy & Daisy had included as a thank you with one of my orders from Eclectic Paperie. I never would have bought green flowers … but they reminded me of the flower toward the bottom left of the photo, so I went with it.
I just started attaching flowers with glue dots starting with the larger ones & filling in with the smaller blooms. I added some yellow Primas for pops of color. Next, I layered on some fun American Crafts Dear Lizzy Flair that my sister picked up for me. I finished with a combination of white & yellow pearls.
I love when an idea I have in my head turns out even better on paper … Moxie Fab indeed.
Pretty, pretty, pretty!!!
Ugh, I think it ate my first comment. Here goes, let’s see if I can remember it all!
First, do you know the Sesame Street song that Bert & Ernie sing, “La la la lemon?” I love that song, and lalala lovely made me think of it 🙂
I love the card – the mix of patterns & textures, and the luxurious amount of flowers you’ve dared to use, and the pops of yellow…moxie fab!
