At Jingle Belles, we were thrilled when we found out our prompt fell on April Fool's Day this week … a perfect opportunity for a Jingle Belles, Batman Smells Prompt … yes, we're that silly … sometimes we just sit and giggle at our own silliness … trust me, it keeps you from taking life too seriously.
So this week' we're asking you to make a humorous holiday card … it can be snarky, silly, or just plain laugh-out-loud funny.
I started with the fabulous Stella from Bugaboo Stamps because she always makes me giggle.
My card is completely colored using digital paper-piecing with digital papers. You can watch Kristina's Video here … or Allison's great tutorials here & here. I love playing around with the colors and pattern-sizes in my papers (these were large polka-dot papers that I sized way down to work with the size of my image … finished card is 5 1/2" square).
I finished by adding some stickles to the snowflakes and some colored pencil highlights to the design.
We hope you have fun this week … use keyword JB14 for uploads to SCS or our Flickr Gallery … click on over to Jingle Belles to check out Lauren's hilarious take on the LOLCats Christmas.
LOL…love it!
This card definitely made me laugh!! Love the colors and image. I admit it, this weeks challenge is going to be a toughie for me, but you and Lauren have provided great inspiration with your cards!
Fun! Isn’t digital piecing great?
What a fun card and such a great prompt for a Christmas card!
Beautifully pieced, very amusing card! I’ve been watching your blog all week, but haven’t commented on anything until today (too busy). Love EVERYTHING you’ve been posting – Huck Finn and baby cards and you and your husband go to some really great places – thanks for sharing your adventures, too!
