Last month, as my friend Lauren and I were lamenting across the miles about the huge bundle of Christmas cards we needed to finish in December … we had a thought … what if we work together in 2011 to make one holiday card a week … and then that thought grew to, what if we create prompts and ideas for those cards … and what if we share them, so others can be less stressed when December rolls around next year … and thus … the Jingle Belles were born.
Our first prompt for holiday card #1 is Something Old … Something New.
For old I've got a vintage Saint Nick cut from the cover of the December 1971 issue of Children's Digest (that I found at an estate tag sale for pennies) … I love those vibrant Technicolor hues … as well as vintage lace crochet trim from the thrift store.
For new, I've got a K&Company Christmas Cheer rhinestone brad that my rockin' sister got me as a Christmas gift, as well as a tone-on-tone background stamped with the new Hero Arts Large Fabric Design.
So bring on the old … bring on the new … and show us your first holiday card of 2011 (oh yeah, and don't forget to check out the fun January prize package here). We've got lots of fun (and maybe even a few kookie) ideas to help you take back December … one holiday card at a time.
I hope you'll join us.

This card…that image…just take my breath away. I adore the vintage lace crochet trim soooo much! I’m pretty sure I felt myself swoon. Just a beautiful card and a perfect way to kick-off Jingle Belles.
