Giveaway & Favorite 2010 Memory

I just packed up three flat-rate boxes full of rubber stamps … lots of Cornish Heritage Farm Backgrounders, Unity & Stampin' Up sets … a whole big mix of rubber.  If you'd like one of those boxes to come live with you, just leave a comment on this post about your favorite memory of 2010.  I'll draw winners next Saturday morning (who knows, I might have a fourth box packed up by then).

One of my favorite memories of last year was exploring museums, galleries, and artsy stores with my sister in Kansas City during the summer … it was so fun to share that experience together.  My sisters' weekends are a true blessing that help sustain me during the year.  I'm already looking forward to our next one.

The fine ladies at Unscripted Sketches are celebrating the New Year by revisiting their sketch library.  I went all the way back to Sketch #2 to celebrate my summer memories using an image and Henry James quote from Artistic Outpost's Keeper set.

Papers are all from Basic Grey's Pyrus line & pearl flourishes are from Zva Creative.  The image was stamped in Burnt Sienna Chalk ink and then I used colored pencils to bring in some of the hues from the papers.

  2. Happy New Year! I hope 2011 is filled with fun and good health for you and yours.
Thanks for the chance to win some goodies. My favourite memory of 2010 is going to a fancy resturant with my husband – the first time in years as I finally lost 3 stone, and felt able to be seen in public! It was a special night, made all the more so because I felt good about myself.
    Have a great new year!

  3. Happy New Year, Steph! My favorite memory of the year is the day a missing piece of my heart returned home – November 29th. Miracles can be huge or tiny, but miracles they remain…

  4. My favorite memory is of spending time with my sister and nieces. We went to visit them in the summer, and they came to spend Thanksgiving with us. Having my young boys interact with family that they don’t get to see often is priceless.
Thanks for all the inspiration you provide in projects as well as your Link Love posts, and thanks for the awesome giveaways. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

  6. I’m sitting here staring at the comment form, trying to narrow down my favourite memories from this year. That’s a pretty good memory all by itself! The one that popped up first was the week that my family spent in PEI this year. It was the first trip there for the kids, and instead of jam-packing every second, we did one big thing every day & let the rest of it unfold. It was relaxed, we did the things we wanted to do, and discovered lots of tiny neat things we never would have seen otherwise. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

My favorite memory is when my 8 year old son got home on December 8th from a 3 week trip to Asia. We couldn’t stop hugging since we missed each other so much. I’m glad he’s still young enough to be so affectionate.

  8. Wow, you two look like you are having fun! I have a lot of fond memories of 2010. The one that sticks out the most in my brain this morning, is taking my son Jeep and grandson Reed to cubscout camp with my husband. The four of us had a great time and it was fun to make up games along the way while exploring. Happy new year and thanks for the chance to win!

  9. This is going to sound a bit strange but I’ve been having problems with my hands for years (some fibromyalgia-related, some not) & really have not been able to use my hands for much of anything especially stamping. I have to have my husband stamp everything up for me. Well, I had carpal tunnel surgery done in November & I am like a new woman again with my left hand!! I can actually use it with little to minimal pain. Can’t wait to get my right hand done this month!! To be able to use your hands is a wonderful thing when you haven’t been able to use them for so long=) Collette katshon66@aol.com

  10. My grand-daughter was born in April 2009. Every moment with her is a treat because it is a gift to watch everything she learns. She learned to walk in 2010 and run and climb. She has a few words and learns more each time we see her. We are blessed. I enjoyed your blogs about your sister trips. I had a sister that was my best friend and lost her to breast cancer. I will always miss her. Visit with your sister every chance you have. Happy New Year.

  11. I love visiting gardens and having people visit mine. A fav event of last year was the local Red Hatters coming to visit my daylily/flower garden in June and then in July going to visit a garden in a neighboring town with my daughter and sister. Fun!

  13. my favorite memory from 2010 was being able to spend Christmas with my 1 year old granddaughter and her mom and dad–they live 10 hours away and since we don’t get to see them that often, it was a special time with lots of fun and family time. thanks for a chance to win one of your suprise packages, my stamp room (and ME) would be happy to have some new goodies!

  14. I’d love to give them a new home! My favorite memory is when the doctor told me that all my lymph nodes were clear – no cancer and that meant I probably wouldn’t need chemo – just radiation! So far still cancer free. And I’m getting a new grandbaby in 19 days or so, and hearng about that was Fabulous too!

  16. I have two precious memories that will stick with me 4ever from 2010.
First, I took my family to Florida. We had several stops: Chicago, DC, then Ft. meyers. In Dc we were having a time getting to our gate. We had 30 minutes. We saw red, white, blue balloons and lots of fanfare at a gate. Assuming service ppl were coming home, someone over heard our inquiry and said it was an honor flight from MN. My heart stopped when I realized my 94 yo grampa was going to be on an honor flight…and he is from MN. They let us up to the gate as the people got off the plane, each one escorted by a well decorated vet. I took a guess that he was there and SURE ENOUGH he was! Wheelchair and all he came off the plane in DC as my family and I cried, as did the others waiting to recieve him there. We could not have planned this meeting if we tried!!!!! It was so amazing…flags music, ballons, screaming. We caught it on video and took pictures. He had never met his youngest great grand child which made it that much more sweet.

  18. My favorite memory from 2010 was going blueberry picking with our whole family on the other side of our state. It’s a small thing but a family tradition. We picked 30 pounds of the berries and eat them slowly in muffins, and on pancakes to make them last the whole year. Yum!
I also really enjoy your adventures you share with us. Can’t wait to see your next destinations.

  19. My Dad suffered a stroke at the beginning of 2010. You’re saying to yourself that isn’t a good memory and that is right, it isn’t. With the love of his family, faith, hard work and determination and countless hours of rebhab, I’m proud to say he has fully recovered! So my favorite memory is the whole 2010 year seeing my father come back to the man we all love and admire.

  21. Out with the old, in with the new! If you pick me, we can meet somewhere in town and save on postage. LOL! My favorite memory from 2010 is taking my first real vacation in 10 years to visit my parents in their winter paradise. It was fun to meet their Arizona friends and HILARIOUS to watch my dad play softball in a retirement league (he’s actually one of their better players, in spite of his age and the fact that he’s blind in one eye). It makes me happy to see them enjoying their golden years together.

  23. The time spent with my daughter is always the highlight of my life. She doesn’t get to come visit as often as she’d like because of her work schedule and medical school — but the time she cuts out to spend with me is a treasure.

(Who says that every grandparent thinks that their’s is the best, brightest, smartest, etc.) Thanks for asking!

  37. For 18 of the 20 years I have been married, I have lived away from any family; and I too have a cherished sister that is also my best friend…so much so that I had a 4th child in hopes of another girl so that my oldest would have the opportunity to experience the special relationship that only a sister knows. The good Lord saw fit to recently move our family back to our home state, and I am ecstatic that my children will be able to truly build the relationships with extended family now that they are not so far away. Birthdays and holidays are so much more special when they can be celebrated with loved ones near!

  40. I moved back to New York after 2 years of living in Antigua to study medicine. It’s so great being back home again and surrounded with loved ones. I also started my rotations in the hospital around the same time and boy, I can’t just list one because I think these experiences will shape me into the type of physician that I am for the rest of my life! It’s hard to describe the excitement of getting a little bit closing into becoming who you’ve always dreamed to be…
