Etsy Inspired Challenge ~ Kimmieprout

Il_fullxfull.144404950 I am so excited to be joining the Etsy Inspired Challenge design team for the second half of 2010. You know I love inspiration challenges, and what's not to love about all of the fun Etsy Stores (my favorite places to by gifts for friends, family, co-workers … and me).

This week's challenge comes from the Etsy store of Kimmieprout.  Kim combines her passions of polymer clay and scrapbooking to create her very own polymer clay embellishments for scrapbooking layouts.  They would be perfect for cardmakers too.

I chose these fabulous Edithos ~ Handmade Polymer Clay Buttons for my inspiration.  I loved the wonderful color palette and the great textures.  I went with the woodgrain texture for my base using my new Tim Holtz Texture Fades Woodgrain embossing folder on a light tan textured cardstock.  After embossing, I sponged on six different colors of Distress Inks to create a woodgrain hue.

The texture on one of the green buttons reminded me of the cool new Very Square stamps from Mint Motif.  I stamped the image in Bundled Sage Distress ink on a piece of pale green designer paper.  I then stamped the Very Square Sentiment in Dark Brown ColorBox Chalk ink before I punched out my circle. I added a few more punched and inked circles bringing in the blue from the color palette to finish my design.

So what can you have a chance to win this week just for joining the fun at Etsy Inspired?? The fabulous Kim is giving away a $15 gift certificate to her store, as well as free shipping (Woo hoo).

PCS_Sponsor_Image_Large Also, our fabulous sponsor for this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge is Pink Cat Studio.  Pink Cat Studio is all about offering fun and whimsical stamps to inspire your creativity.  They have a huge collection of both digital and rubber stamps to choose from with new ones added every week.

Owner & artist Melissa started PCS in 2005 & she loves seeing what people create with her adorable images (some of my favorites include Pretty Birds in a Tree, Love Birds on a Swing, and this super-cute Lady Bug Party Tower).

Melissa will be giving one lucky winner five free digital images … go check out the store & pick out your favorites.

So for a chance to win these great prizes, check out the kimmieprout Etsy store, make a card inspired by one of her amazing polymer clay creations, and link it up by Friday, July 9th at Noon PST.  If you upload to an online gallery, use keyword EIC95.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team creations for even more inspiration:
