I love the colors in this week's Tuesday Trigger Inspiration, the Green Grass & Pink Flower Purse by Daphne. These hues are staples in my wardrobe and also favorite colors when I design (I actually owned, and frequently wore, fuchsia suede boots in high school … wish I still had them today).
I also loved the big bold flowers & reverse polka dot design (where the polka dots are lighter than the background).
I used the inspiration to make a birthday card for a very special friend … yes, that very friend who invited me to my very first Friday Night Crop at the local scrapbooking store many years ago. I am so glad we're still close friends … and so glad she opened my eyes to a creative medium that has filled my life with such joy.
The CHF Open Circles backgrounder was stamped in Lime Pastel Chalk ink on a sparkly light lime cardstock background. I broke out my new PaperTrey Ink Flower Dies for my blooms with Basic Grey Euphoria papers (love the subtle design in the solid colors). I used glue dots in the centers when attaching the layers, so I could use my fingers to give some dimension to the petals. I also loved how the flower middles were off-center in the purse design, so I used some adhesive pink gems to finish my design.
Another tip ~ when you want your elements to extend beyond the edge of your card design, make the card base slightly smaller, so it will still fit into your standard envelope. The sentiment is a Making Memories Card Sayings Rub-on.
Your card is really cute! I love those flowers–now I know where to get them. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
