Blushing Thank You

This week's challenge at the Cards Blog is to create a card with product that is over a year old.  I usually do a fairly good job of pruning discontinued items from my stash, often by making donations to charity auctions, senior centers, etc.

However, there is one product I have never parted with no matter how old it is … my Basic Grey 6" paper pads.  I still remember the thrill of finding an entire set of coordinated papers with patterns sized perfectly for cards. To me, the designs are classic and never go out of style.  I decided to go waaaaayyy back to the discontinued Blush Collection for this card.

I used the little bird from the paper's design as my focal point for Heidi's fabulous sketch at the Caardvarks Blog (there are some super-fun digi-stamps up for grabs this month).  I added some flowers (PaperTrey Ink Die Cut & regular paper punch), adhesive pearls, and a fair amount of sponging to finish the design.

I also dug way back into the archives for a Stampin' Up Rub-on Sentiment that is several years old (can't seem to part with sentiments either).  I can't wait to see the cards created for this challenge … it will be fun to see what products that others can't let go.
