I was particularly moved by this week's 52-Card Pick-up theme of Honoring Faith. I agree with the concept that there are a multitude of paths one can take to find spiritual enlightenment … however in the end, the beauty of it all is that hopefully we're all playing the same chord … just in different keys. Her thoughts reminded me of several of the Unitarian Universalist principals:
- The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
- Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations;
- A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
- The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
- Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
To honor those ideas, I made a sympathy card using a favorite thought from Eskimo Folklore.
Papers are Pink Paislee's Queen Bee Collection. I also incorporated Alison's Challenge to Use Up Those Scraps. Everything on this card except the background piece was a scrap. When I buy a pad of paper, I store all of the scraps in that pad by tucking them in between the pages. Then when I go to make a card, I have all of my coordinating scraps together.
Hi Steph! Great card, and I love that sentiment! I also appreciate that you posted those Unitarian Universalist principles – great food for thought… Thank you again for supporting my challenging efforts – your input is always superb!
