I discovered, when looking back through my card creations, that red, white & blue is not a color combination I often use. To remedy that, I decided to use it for my card for this week's Sketch at Friday' Sketchers. I also wanted to use my new Wordsworth stamp.
The base is textured white cardstock and the DP is from the Basic Grey Cupcake collection. I knotted th ribbon and then tied a second piece around the knot. I found this ribbon in the floral section of Hobby Lobby for $2.99 for 10 yards ($1.50 if you wait until it's on sale half price like I always do), it has a really nice texture and sheen for cardmaking. I finished with some cheapy adhesive gems from the dollar bin at Michael's.
You can check out lots more red, white & blue goodness at Caardvarks today … and the new challenge (Sponsored by ShortCuts) goes up at midnight tonight with an entire gallery of DT creations.

Oooh…great card…love that combo of red/blue!
I really like the card, my darling daughter! I am so grateful for your creativity, and a loving husband who supports and encourages you in letting it shine forth. I hope to someday have a true “joy in my life” again.
How do you do it? All these projects and each one so unique. Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely card Stef. That is a great sketch and looks fantastic in the lighter blues and red.
Great card and a fab colour combo
