I bought this book of vintage post cards for a quarter when I was in Missouri last year. The postmark is April 29, 1943, and they were mailed with a 1 1/2 cent stamp. I have wonderful memories of spending time driving these scenic roads with my Dad when he lived in Utah, so I thought he would enjoy a card or project featuring these wonderful vintage photos. The Value in Vintage Challenge at the Moxie Fab Blog was just the nudge I needed to get something made.
I chose this image of Ogden Canyon because my dad has a picture of me near some water that looks very much like this scene. I paired it with modern vintage papers from the Graphic45 Communique line. I sponged on a little Ranger Tea Dye Distress ink around the edges to add a bit more aged look.
For a little more vintage goodness, I used a brown Marvy marker to ink up part of a stamp from the Home Collection by Artistic Outpost. I stamped it in two pieces on the border of a page from an aged vintage book (I have a couple of old books with wide page borders in my collection just for stamping) and then tore the edges before attaching it to torn black cardstock. What great memories.

I love this card… the papers are great and the colours match perfectly!
What a great memory you found with these postcards…
Oh… and your quote of the week is sooo true; I really like it!
