Dawn McVey of My Favorite Things has posted her first color challenge inspired by this fun Tropical Punch Quilt and Sham from Pottery Barn Teen.
I do love how that girl combines her colors (not to mention the delicious Raspberry Fizz cardstock from PapterTreyInk), so I wanted to play along. You have until Wednesday at noon to link up your card.
After finishing this card, I wished I had used some thin brown ribbon for my corner strips. Since this polka dot paper from Sassafras Lass Sunshine Lollipops had all of the colors, I thought it would look great, but it just doesn't seem to quite mesh with the rest of the design. Oh well, design and learn from it.
The background is stamped with Hero Arts DesignBlock Outline Flowers in Raspberry Fizz ink. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz' Stampers Anonymous set Natures Moments. I found that great raspberry ribbon in the floral section at Hobby Lobby; it was a 20 yard roll for 99 cents (and I got it on sale for half price).

love your card…so cute!
Gorgeous!!! What a great idea uning the dot paper on the edges!! very creative!!!
Great card. I love the sentiment!!!
I really like this card. I see what you mean about the brown ribbon, but hey, they can’t all be perfect. Sometimes you have to settle for really, really good, lol!
Stef this is such a lovely card. I love how you put the sentiment center stage!
