The theme at the Hero Club Blog this week was make-it-in-minutes holiday cards. I had a lot of fun combining my Core'dinations Cardstock (huge shout-out to the great people at Core'dinations for all of the great product they provided the Caardvarks Design Team for our Core Concepts Challenge).
For this card, I embossed a piece of purple Black Magic Core'dinations cardstockwith the snowflakes embossing folder. After sending the raised areas to bring out the design (and wiping the paper with a slightly damp baby wipe to remove the paper dust and really bring out the color of the core), I covered the entire piece of clear embossing ink and embossed it with Polysparkle Embossing powder. It's so difficult to capture the fabulous sparkly shimmer in the photograph.
I finished with the Hero Arts Season's Greetings Holiday Collage stamped in Warm Violet ColorBox Chalk on the smooth side of the Core'dinations cardstock and clear embossed. I added dark purple satin ribbon and highlights of a Sakura sparkle pen to finish the design.
Here's a close-up of the embossed panel.
For this super-quick card I stamped the Hero Arts DesignBlock Flourish in Mediterranean Blue Brilliance ink on the Green Core'dinations Vintage Retro Mod Green cardstock and clear embossed for a very subtle pattern. The Hero Ats Large Christmas circle on white cardstock and clear embossed.
I finished with layered circles and scalloped circles (I think the finished design looks like a holiday ornament), a Martha Stewart Border punch, and some adhesive gems.
I love the combination of the Red and Green cardstock from the Core'dinations Vintage Retro Mod Collection. The trees were punched multiple times, and then every other tree was reversed to the smooth side of the cardstock. Yes, that's the Hero Arts Design Block Flourish again, this time stamped in black. I finished with a tiny sentiment from Stampin' Up Perfect Ending set, a Martha Stewart punched border, black ribbon and a star brad.
And finally, one more Hero Arts holiday card (okay, it's a bit of a stretch for a holiday card), but after Christmas is over, I will be needing lots of Thank You cards.
A piece of white cardstock was cut for the base & marked at the point where I wanted my sentiment to be. Triangles of yellow and orange Core'dinations cardstock were then overlapped around the card with the points all meeting where the sentiment would be placed.
After they were all attached, I trimmed around the cardstock piece to even up the edges & then added the Archiver's/Hero Arts Limited Edition Thank you stamped in Tangerine ColorBox Chalk on the reverse side of the yellow cardstock. The sentiment is layered on two scalloped circles and attached with foam tape.
For a chance to win a lot of fabulous Core'dinations cardstock, make sure you upload your new card creations using no design paper to the Caardvarks Flickr Gallery by December 20th at midnight.
