I picked up the new Modern Milan collection of cardstock from Me & My big Ideas at Michael’s with my 40% off coupon. After watching the The Darjeeling Limited this week, I was drawn to these bright colors and patterns. Today’s SCS Ways to Use it Challenge was to make a card entirely with designer papers (no cardstock allowed except for the card base).
I used a piece of orange/red DP on my card base and then punched twelve 1 1/4" squares from a tiny patterned orange DP.
The 1" squares are punched from various other pieces of paper in the collection. I added the tiny birthday cake from Hero Arts and a Happy Birthday sentiment from Rubber Soul, punched out with the 1 1/4" circle and attached with a pop-dot.
I love the bright fun feel of this patchwork creation.
This is so very very fun!!!
Totally adore this. Very bright, cheerful and fun.
oh my dearest darling, only YOU could make a card inspired by a wes anderson film…and have it SO CAPTURE the essence of “the darjeeling limited”!!! if the folks in the hubble telescope were focussed on new jersey right now, i swear to you, they *COULD* see my smile from space!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂
This is gorgeous! I love the patchwork feel of this. It looks like lots of work, but soooo worth it!
