Today is my brother Mike's birthday. He is an awesome brother, father and artist. I always enjoy trying techniques that push my artistic limits when I make cards for him.
This card uses Cindy Keery's Glow Vellum technique. I love how it looks with my Paper Bag Studio image. It's difficult to capture the glow of the Perfect Pearls behind the vellum in the photograph. I want to try it again using acetate to see what that looks like.
The one thing I added was embossing the image using clear embossing powder because I was having trouble getting it to dry completely on the vellum (aka I was impatient), and I love the subtle texture the embossing gives to the design. The paper piecing behind the image are Basic Grey Mellow papers.
Happy birthday bro.
What a great project. I love how this turned out. Lots of different techniques here that I will have to try sometime.
What a beautiful card!! I really love that BG collection; love how you used them here!
TFS!
