Blocked Thanks and Highest Delights of Life

Today’s Featured Stamper is Betty (gbedwright) – I chose her Thank You card as my inspiration.  I loved the clean design and how it uses coordinated DP scraps.

Fs54wmI love finding papers from different companies that work together.  This card combines a piece of specialty embossed paper, Crate DP (floral) and MME Tres Jolie (stripes).

After attaching the squares to an ivory card base, I eye-balled the positioning of my floral stamp by Savvy.  Unfortunately, I slipped my hand slightly when I stamped and ended up with a slight shadow on my image.  It was one of those happy mistakes though, because I actually liked the result … I think it adds some visual interest to the large expanse of ivory.  The Retro Thank You is from Stampendous (both are stamped in ColorBox Chalk Dark Brown).

I knotted the sparkly brown ribbon and attached it using glue dots (there is one under the knot and the lower tail because it kept wanting to stick up).

Ssnotime22wmI also did a card for Sharon’s Leslie Sketch Challenge.  This week Mailman Joe also brought me quite a bit of new rubber, including this great Never While stamp from Wordsworth that is stamped with Black Staz-on on a piece of Basic Grey Obscure DP.   More obscure DP is on the background together with a piece of pink cardstock embossed with the new Cuttlebug Diamond Rough embossing folder.  To bring out the pattern a bit more, I stippled on some Ranger Black Soot Distress Ink.

I hope you find some creative time today.

  1. What a gorgeous card…..the colours are divine.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and the comment you left.
I don’t think TandaStamps has an outlet in the US but they do ship worldwide. Unfortunately with the $/£ exchange at the moment that is not so good for you.

  2. Love both of these — Block Hearts is full of interest and fun — just love it!!! The Leslie Sketch is gorgeous!!! Love that sentiment stamp and that you stamped it onto the DP and love your embossed diamond pattern with its inked areas!!! I also like that you set the main image panel off center — both great cards!!!! So glad you could play again, thanks so much!!!

  3. ok, well, of course i love BOTH of these…but the “FRIEND” one…FAB to have the quote stamped on the BG cardstock (there’s just enough color variation on that stuff to be interesting w/o being an actual *pattern*…love that!) and then the other brights and textures with it…WOW! it’s super stef-a-licious!!! 🙂
