Pink Oxford Shirts & Grey Wool Pants

There was a time in high school that almost my entire wardrobe consisted of some shade of pink or gray.  My budget was limited, and I figured out early that picking one color palette made creating a variety of outfits much easier.  The same can be said for cards.  Once you decide on a palette, you’re well on your way in the creative process.

I wanted to try some new sketch challenges this week.  This one is by Kristen Dubosque aka The Naptime Stamper.  The DP is from the Karen Neuburger swatch book.  One great thing about this paper is the reverse of each patterned DP is a coordinating solid color, so it makes it easier to pull things together.

I ran the striped DP through the Cuttlebug Heart embossing folder (I’m so excited, my new embossing folders are on the way).  I sponged a bit much with charcoal ink, but decided to just go with it.  I added the gray mat to the card to help tie it together.  I had this yummy scrap of ribbon in my stash that worked perfectly.  The sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly and the heart is a $1 Michael’s Kolette Hall stamp.

One more Valentine RAK going in the mail.  Why don’t you mail a surprise valentine to someone this week
