Sewing Random Circles

Sewingcircleswm If you have the Autumn Leaves Designing With 2008 calendar, this card my look familiar.  It was inspired by the cards of Jennifer McGuire shown on January 30th.  I love having this calendar on my desk at the office, so that I always have a little bit of creativity to inspire me each day at the office.

I went through my scrap bin choosing all of the scraps in this color family.  I ran several scraps through Cuttlebug Embossing folders to add some texture.  I got out circle punches in all sizes, and then attached circles to a white rectangle in a random fashion.  I sewed around the edge and then did a wandering stitched path through the circles.  I stamped Impression Obsession Note Label on one of the circles in Dark Brown ColorBox Chalk Ink and then attached the rectangle to a card front (to hide the stitching from the inside).

What a fun way to use my scraps.  I think I’ll do several more in different colors for a gift card set.  I’ll also try using some contrasting thread for a little more contrast on the stitching.

Remember, you still have time to join in the fun for the I-squared Inspiration Giveaway.
