The challenge on Daring Cardmakers was to use just a single word as the main embellishment of your card design.
I remembered that I had these metal words hid away in my stash. I decided to use Believe and create a holiday card. I found this beautiful Santa paper in the middle of the all of the bright sparkley papers on the DCWV Holiday Mat Pack. I covered a 4×9" card and then inked around the edges with Ranger Tea Dye Distress Ink to add a little more depth and bring out the Santa image on the left. I tore a piece of a leather-like red handmade paper and inked it with the same Distress ink.
I attached some coordinating ribbon the card and then tried to attach the metal to the paper. That’s where things got a bit tricky. I tried glue dots and super-strong tape, but nothing seemed to work. I went searching for metal adhesive, but couldn’t find any. Finally, I decided to try heating the word with my heat gun hoping it would help all of the adhesives I had attached to meld to the paper … and it worked. The glue dots liquefied and when everything cooled, the word was adhered.
I love having so many holiday cards already completed.
