Yeti or Not Leftovers

One of our favorite things about a big Thanksgiving dinner … are the leftovers
(turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwich anyone?) … so this week we’re celebrating Holiday Leftovers at Jingle Belles.

We’re asking you to make a card using paper scraps, offcuts, an image you colored or diecut or fussy-cut but never used, a small piece of ribbon too pretty to toss away, the last sticker in the packet or… whatever “leftover” bits and bobs you have laying around. Of course you can mix in new stuff too. Oh and be sure to tell us what your leftovers are so we can marvel at your cleverness!

I pulled lots of bits out of my leftover bucket to see what I could pull together.

I really liked the embossed purple panel peeking out from the top right and the opalescent foiled snowflakes at the bottom. I went back to the bucket and found a coordinating glitter oval that had not cut cleanly, so I cut it down to a circle and voia … three leftovers to start my design.

When I searched through my holiday stash and saw this adorable Doodlebug Designs Hello Winter Doodle-Pop Yeti had a lavender nose … I knew he had to be the star of the show.

I matted my panel and circle in silver and found a dark purple card base. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Yeti for Christmas. I accessorized my Yeti with an Eyelet Outlet Candy Cane brad and a Santa Hat sticker … as well as the two snowflake stickers that were included with the Doodle-Pop and a coordinating Yeti sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

I’m also linking him up at the Anything Goes Challenge at Little Red Wagon. It’s also Anything Goes: Christmas at The Paper Funday Challenges.

And here he is with his brother Bumble that I found at Five Below this week. Not too bad for leftovers … can’t wait to see what you make.

I’m also linking-up at the Christmas Card Challenge at Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges.
