I picked-up the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Carnation Layering Die Set on a recent trip to my local store Scrapmania, so I wanted to give it a try for the July Altenew Inspiration Challenge, which also features Carnations.

I die cut the large carnation from the darker pink (which I ink blended quite a bit) and the smaller one from both the dark and light pink (with a bit more ink blending on the lighter one). I also cut two sets of the leaves from green cardstock.

To pull in the white and gold from the Inspiration photo, I used gold foil with the Altenew Essential Textures: Terazzo Press Plate on white cardstock (I initially tried gold on a slightly paler pink, but the contrast wasn’t enough).

I finished with a Congrats Sentiment from Altenew Sentiment Strips stamped in green and a few clear golden gems.
The dies were super easy to line-up with the Key Hole System … they will make a great go-to for lots of different occasions.

I’m also linking-up at the Mutual Appreciation Celebration at NBUS Challenge (since everything on my card has never been used before … I’ve had that Terrrazzo Press Plate for quite some time … love how it turned out).
