Mixed Media Color Me Blooms

I had fun using the ink smooshing with acetate technique with Distress Inks to “paint” my new STAMPlorations Color Me Blooms Spring Florals. I went in and added a bit of watercolor marker to some spots and then I spattered the blooms with Speedball Acrylic Calligraphy gold ink.

I paired the blooms with the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Mini Slimlines, that I framed with cardstock and turned into a full size slimline card. I love how the messy “painting” of the blooms echos the inky spots on the panel.

I used the STAMPlorations Bubbles Stencil on the cardstock base because I thought it also echoed the shape of the cluster of blooms and gives the eyes a path down the card.

I finished with a Congrats Sentiment from Funny Kinda Love.

I used a similar recipe for my second card.

For this one I painted on the gold ink in the edges of the blooms where the smooshed Distress Ink had not absorbed into the paper. I lowered the floal point position on the panel and finished with a sentiment from STAMPlorations Faith Expressions.

I finished both cards with some iridescent gems.
