Spirit of Christmas Past

We’re still creating with vintage or faux-vintage products at Jingle Belles this week.

I started with a photograph of Poinsettias from the 1979 Christmas Ideals Magazine. My Gran always had Ideals on the table in the formal sitting room at her home, and I loved sneaking in and looking through them (kiddos were pretty much banished tot the downstairs family room), so this card reminds me of her.

I cut the image into 5/8″ strips and cut them apart using the Sketch from Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers on a green card base.

Next, I paired it with a faux vintage poinsettia image from Tim Holtz Vintage Christmas Paper Dolls Christmas 2023 that I die cut using Spellbinders Essential Stylish Oval Dies.

I finished with a Tim Holtz Label Sticker Sentiment.

And remember, one lucky participant will win some awesome vintage Christmas goodies from Lauren’s awesome Etsy Store Just Enough Stuff.

  1. Fabulous & pretty take on the sketch. I’ve saved images from calendars … now I have an idea for them! Thanks for the inspiration.

  2. What a great card! Great take on the sketch, I love how it looks like bricks. Yes, I remember those Ideal mags, I may have had one or two. Such a gorgeous poinsettia!
