The Man, the Myth

We’re still creating primarily red holiday cards at Jingle Belles this week.

I pulled all of the red designer papers out of my scrap bin for inspiration. I decided to cut them into approximately. 5/8″ strips (a few were slightly different size to fit the design like the white poinsettias at the bottom right), but any combination of widths will work for this technique.

Next, a grabbed a long rectangular scrap of thin white cardstock and started paper quilting. When I got done, I realized a slimline design would work well with the design I had created, so I cut it down to that size.

I found this Santa in a package of Simple Stories Holly Jolly Page Pieces, and he fit perfectly in the center of the design. I attached him with foam tape and grounded him with a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp The Man, The Myth (one of those long-discontinued sets that I will never part with).

Remember you have until Wednesday afternoon to link-up your red holiday card (and be one card closer to having your 2026 Christmas cards ready to go).
