Stamp Carving

Last Sunday, I had so much fun taking a stamp carving class at Tree of Liminality.

I found some images I found interesting, so she was able to print them in reverse for our pattern. Then we used transfer paper to get the image onto our carving material. After that, we used a sharpie to go over the lines, to make it easier to carve.

I decided to skip the word once I started carving … I also left off the two hearts on the bottom of each side because they felt like they ended-up too close to my main image. I was really happy with how it turned out.

For my second stamp, I had to do a monster. I wish I had done his eyeball a bit better, but I still think he’s pretty cute.

I think I definitely have the fever to try some more carving.

I decided to use my first stamp to make a card inspired by the Inspired by … Love Letter Challenge.

I paired it with a metallic gold frame & fun striped paper that I thought gave the feel of the yarn in the photo.

I stamped Kristina Werner’s You Are the Best sentiment on my envelope.
