I wanted to join the final Altenew Inspiration Challenge of 2025 … which is an Ultimate Inspiration Challenge that looks back on the prior 11 months.
I really loved the pillow in the January 2025 Inspiration Challenge with Aditi.

I love the colors, the vertical lines, the muslin background and the variance in the blooms. I hoped I had some floral images in my Altenew inventory that would work for a similar design … unfortunately, I did not.
I had the privilege of hosting the SplitcoastStampers inspiration Challenge for a 5 1/2 years, and one of the things I loved most about it was finding a piece (like this pillow) that inspired me … and then getting creative with my artsy inventory to capture that inspiration in a card. So I looked at all of the Altenew products I had, and I made a card that captured what I believe is a similar feel to the pillow.

I wanted the earthy muslin feel, so I die cut the Altenew Doodled Lace Cover Die from a light kraft cardstock that had subtle speckles of color.
Then to capture the vertical feel of the flowers, I used paints that were the color of the inspiration piece and created a GelliArts print to use behind the die cut … sort of a reverse of the pillow design. For the golden hue, I used some metallic gold paint that added a bit of shimmer to the design.

I added a few Altenew Satin Gold Pearl Dots to the center of several of the blooms.
I finished with a die cut sentiment (backed in vellum) from Altenew Versatile Greetings 3.
I love how it turned out … and I loved the challenge of using what I had to achieve an inspired design.
