My Sweet Embossable You

The newest Challenge at Shopping Our Stash is My Sweet Embossable You – create a card featuring heat embossing or pressure embossing (or both if you’re an over-achiever).

I decided to use emboss resist technique. I started by stamping Kristina Werner’s Long Line Leaves Background stamp in white pigment ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder.

Next I used my blending brushes and applied inks using all of the colors from the Midnight Moves Sunday Stamps Challenge.

When I was done, I cut the strip in half and trimmed the end a bit, so I could frame it with my white card base.

Next I used a combination of the inks to ink one of the solid Kristina Werner Long Line Leaves stamps, which I then die cut and attached with foam tape (A tip for that – use the die cut to position your stamp or you may not have the leaf stem aligned correctly to die cut … ask me how I know).

I finished by layering two die cuts from the Kristina Werner Long Line Leaves Die Cuts creating a shadow (I started with just the Tide Pool, but didn’t get quite enough contrast for it to show-up against the background … the shadow solves that problem). I used vellum for the sentiment backer and finished with some enamel dots.

  1. Beautiful card! The emboss resist background is stunning, and the Midnight Moves color blend works perfectly with the leaf details. Love the added shadow for contrast—such a smart finishing touch!
