Watermelon Summer

The June Memory Box Challenge is Summer Vibes.  The inspiration for my card was one of my favorite summer photos.

Watermelon

This photo of me was taken at a summer outing and published in the local newspaper … I felt like a rock star.

I stamped the whole watermelon from the Memory Box Thanks a Melon on a piece of green designer paper, and then I colored a few stripes with a darker green.  I stamped the slice on white cardstock and colored it with markers.

I die cut two of the Memory Box Knotted Circle Wreaths from a coordinating pink cardstock and a third wreath from a darker watermelon hue.  I finished with the coordinating sentiment from the set and sprinkles of black gems that reminded me of watermelon seeds (and made me smile as I remembered a watermelon seed spitting contest in a hotel hallway … and how much I miss my friend Diana).
