Imagine What is Possible

I went thrifting with my sister when I was back in Missouri recently, and I took a chance on a board game called Icons – Women Who Play to Win, hoping that there might be game cards inside the taped-up box that I could use to make some cards.  It turned out it had both game cards and chipboard tokens that I thought would be fun to incorporate.

I'm currently reading (well having it read to me actually, since I love audiobooks … it always takes me back to the joy of Mrs. Wolfinbarger reading to us in 5th grade) Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid.  Two of the icons from the game were recently mentioned in the book – Sally Ride and Billy Jean King – so I chose them for today's card.  For the third, I chose Marion Mahoney Griffin (one of the first female architects in the world).

I used the chipboard tokens from the game for the circles in this week's Sunday Stamps Going in Circles Sketch Challenge.

I used what seemed like the perfect sentiment from Impression Obsession Words for Art and finished with some gems.

I'm also linking-up at the Round We Go Challenge at The Paper Players.

  3. What a great card to inspire a young girl, because the women you chose are absolutely amazing in what they accomplished. I like the colors and of course the most perfect sentiment. Thanks so much for playing along with the Paper Players this week!
