I've been having a lot of fun lately enjoying events that are within walking distance of my home … one of the reasons we chose to live downtown 10 years ago.
First was a front row seat at a Carly Pearce Hummingbird World Tour Concert (if you buy single tickets, you can almost always find one near the front).
Then the following week, I got to Dwight Youkum, The Mavericks and 49 Winchester (shown here).
Yep another front row seat in a bigger arena … and The Mavericks did not disappoint.
I absolutely adored the Accordion player Percy Cardona.
And finally three hours later, Dwight performed (I think I'm too old for concerts). The sound mixing wasn't the best for some reason, but he was still moving those hips.
Last weekend, my husband and I built a new Mid Century bookshelf (which was pretty easy once I figured out they were Allen wrench screws instead of Phillips). We love how little space it takes, but it still rotates easily to find the book you want.
And last night I loved seeing Amy Grant in concert. I think it was the fifth time I've seen her (the first time was when she was very young in 1981). Her vocal range is the same as mine, so I sang a lot of her songs when I was young at Church Camp Talent Shows and during church services. It's always special to get to see her perform and have the music take me back.
And that's a wrap of what I've been up to.
